MONTREAL – Born into dismal Quebec rural poverty in 1845,
the child who was to become Brother André was conditionally baptized
the next day because he was not expected to survive.

On Friday, the Roman Catholic church made him Quebec’s first
male saint.

Congratulations to Canada.
