sexual behavior. That’s right, the proper context of intimate relations is within the institution of marriage (one man, one woman) in conjunction with an openness to life. Experience the fullness of human sexuality in the context of its design allows for a complete giving of both parties and greatly increases the chances that the fruits, or children (so to speak), of such a union will enter into this world in a familial structure that is properly oriented in selfless love and affection. This is as close as any creature can come to living the unity of the Triune Godhead. Furthermore, to say that further eroding the right to life of children by ensuring that murder of their being is more readily available and sanctioned is truly abominable and calls to mind the passages found in Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”
Brasilia, Brazil, Sep 23, 2010 / 05:53 pm CNA.- Father Berardo Graz, the coordinator of the Brazilian bishops’ Defense of Life Committee, recorded a video message [It will be added once I can locate it.] this week criticizing the country’s government for claiming that legalizing abortion will prevent thousands of maternal deaths.Father Graz denied claims by the current government officials that the leading cause of maternal deaths in Brazil is illegal abortion. The priest explained that roughly 400,000 women die in Brazil each year, with 1,500 due to pregnancy complications. Of these 1,500, he continued, “only 200 die from abortions.” “And that’s without specifying the circumstances of the abortion, because among these 200, some women die from miscarriage” or complications such as ectopic pregnancies. “The truth is that the victims of illegal abortion are 100 or less,” the priest said. “To say women have the right to kill their own children without considering it as an individual or another person is to go against nature,” he warned.
