To be named a saint, that person needs to have “verified miracles” attributed to them. How does the Catholic Church attempt to “verify” a miracle?

The Church goes through an investigation wherein it evaluates the evidence presented and exhausts all other explanations (such as scientific or medical) other than divine or miraculous intervention. Key to this is that the persons interviewed or testifying that a miracle was obtained on their behalf by the proposed blessed/saint was making such a request to that blessed/saint alone.
