Over the next 5 years, technology will continue (what I see) on 2 paths.
The path of electronic or digital technology will continue to embed itself into the very fabric of our daily lives through smart appliances and devices that relieve our pains and inefficiencies in exchange for increased dependence.
Then there is the “hack” or simple path of technology wherein we innovate or even rediscover methods of addressing inefficiencies without the use of digital technology. I think that over the next 5 years we’ll see an increase in technological appropriation from non-first world countries where the developed North begins to simply product offerings. Moreover, I feel the early, increased exposure of children to STEM will assist with the increase of simple solutions.
